J L Eve C333

Contents

Overview

C333 is a distribution tower type designed by J L Eve. The C333 drawing set was used for schemes SWE SL9 (33 kV line from Bath to Melksham) and SWE SL10 (“33KV LINE AT SALISBURY (132KV)”). Both lines appear to have been dismantled.

The tower drawings were drawn in 1936 and approved in 1948; possibly the approval was delayed until after World War II.

It appears that C333 was adapted for the towers used by lines in Abergavenny and Cymbran in south Wales.

Base widths are, uncharacteristically, between the centres of the stubs at ground level. Values marked * are difficult to read and are a best guess.
