Headspan was a low-cost OLE type introduced in the UK; while visually elegant, it is not very practical. There is also a hybrid type where the headspan wire is replaced by a portal beam. Headspan catenary was also used in Hong Kong. A similar system can be seen in Denmark although their version uses only portal beams instead of headspan wires; this can be seen in the Rail Engineer article Denmark's first high speed line opens.
