The ominous lack of the sounds of trains in over half an hour of walking suggested something was wrong. Engineering works … The intended journey (pylon hunt 22) had to be postponed for a week. In the meantime, a fall-back plan: revisit pylon hunt 0 in better weather and with a better camera. It would also allow me to fill in some gaps, in particular the jumper weights used with L2 (and L3) angle towers to maintain clearances in high winds.
It was a hazy day: far from the best light for photographs, but a pleasant day out all the same.

Diverting from the road to a footpath through the trees:

There’s a nice resting spot with stepping stones near where the River Ver joins the River Colne:
This tribute to someone named Lizzy from someone else named Zoë was left on the bench:
The note suggests suicide. I have been unable to identify them.
Finally there:

Bricket Wood railway station is half-way along the Abbey Line, and it used to be the location of the passing loop that allowed two trains to traverse the line in opposite directions. These days the line is single-train only.

A lonely bee …
I took very few photos of Bricket Wood village; maybe another time.
The Sundon–Elstree 400 kV line passes right through Bricket Wood.
Leaving Bricket Wood …
Passing a house where the owners keep plants out the front:
The owners drove up while I was there, in a sports car that might have been a Lamborghini.
