Coventry 33 kV
Contents
Overview
Two lines partially enclosing Coventry use a tower type similar to that used by Preston Corporation. The most noticeable difference between the Coventry type and the Preston type is that the Coventry type uses 10° suspension towers rather than tension towers. The line tower is not quite the same as either the RPA or RPB type used in Preston. The lines currently operate at 33 kV but the towers appear to have 66 kV clearances.
The towers are almost certainly a Blaw Knox design.
Coventry is also notable for being the location of the L2 DMC tower suite (L2 with extended middle crossarms).

Lines
Only a single route around the outside of Coventry, from the west side to the north side, is known. There are two lines comprising three segments:
- Coventry West substation to Hawkesmill Lane substation (Hawkes End), continuing directly onto
- Hawkesmill Lane substation to Coventry Colliery substation (line terminates here)
- A second line from Coventry Colliery substation to the far side of Ash Green
There is a small amount of PL16 heading towards Coventry Colliery substation.
