Alps KGL Series

KGL is a reed keyboard switch series from Alps Electric. It was mentioned briefly in the Wizard of ALPS advertisement from Alps Electric USA in 1981. It is a successor to KGF.

KGL may be the switch type found in the Toshiba RS3081. This example has not been inspected for date evidence, but the 56AAA code on the PCB would suggest a design from something like 1989 onwards. If the switches in the Toshiba RS3081 are indeed KGL then this would imply that KGL became SKGL around 1985–86.
