Endicott Coil Company
The Endicott Coil Company, Inc. is a US manufacturer specialising in wound copper coils. In 1982, they advertised the E8700 Ticker, which appears to be a solenoid-based click sound generator. Endicott noted that “Our sound devices are being used throughout the industry to give positive operator feedback to silent keyboards.” Within the Geekhack topic xwhatsit's Grand Unified IBM Capsense USB controller thread under the heading “Beamspring-USB-Solenoid-Driver-Rev2” is a photograph showing a device remarkably similar to the E8700. The Deskthority topic My Guide for Restoring IBM 5251 shows another photograph of the same part.
