Post box toppers in the UK

Overview
“Toppers” are knitted/crocheted decorations placed onto post boxes by members of the public. Some seem to be purely decorative (including commemorative), while others also advertise for good causes.

This practice surprises Americans, as it seems that in the US such acts would result in prompt legal trouble or vandalism. Although Royal Mail seem to enjoy the toppers, even here they are not immune to theft, for example this fabulous example was stolen a day after it was installed. Theft and vandalism is sadly a reality for the creators of these displays, but they continue undeterred.
Lower Sundon
The Lower Sundon post has been decorated on each of the four times I have visited it during 2022 and 2023.

Harlington
It remains to be seen whether other post boxes in Central Bedfordshire are as commonly decorated as the one in Lower Sundon. The post box in Park Leys road in Harlington was decorated for Remembrance in 2023, as illustrated below, as well as for Christmas 2023 along with some other post boxes in that area.
