Leads requiring Asian language speakers
The following leads require speakers of Asian languages to communicate with the individuals or companies in question. Most if not all are instances where my attempts to communicate in English did not receive a response, and I am hoping that a native speaker would have more success than I ever did.

Japanese
SNE made the GINGA-286L keypad with Hosiden switches, and since there is still a GINGA keypad on their website, they may remember something about these switches, such as series name or part numbers (Hosiden themselves remember very little)
Chinese
- Ortek — the objective is to find out who they bought their Alps clone switches from in the ’90s
There may be more that we can learn from alps.tw that the language barrier does not permit, since I am only able to communicate with him via machine translation (I still don’t understand what he says and I am not sure that he understands what I say either).
Korean
- This page on brown Alps needs translating, and perhaps the author of the work can shed some light on the switches, which do not match any known Alps switch
There is likely a lot of information in Korean that we presently have limited access to.
