MIME Inspector 1.0 open source

MIME Inspector is a tool used to help ensure that your Web site is returning the correct MIME types for files being served. Incorrect MIME types can cause various problems with downloadable files: Windows Internet Explorer is known to reassign the file extensions to ones matching the false MIME types, Macintosh computers may assign invalid file types to the files (again according to the false MIME type), and there is always the dreaded issue of binary files being spewed out as “text” into the window.

MIME Inspector works on the basis that you have a complete copy of your site offline (on your hard drive) in a structure that mirrors that of your site, otherwise the process will be tedious or impossible. If you wish to check a live site will need a radically different tool!

MIME Inspector is discontinued. Could be knocked up in five minutes in Cocoa anyway.
