ASC & Mav – Sceptical Teller in Mysteries of Magic 1 – Masters of Mystery “[It’s one that] you can’t watch passively. You can’t just sit there and go ‘oh yeah, yeah, she’s floating through the air’. You just can’t. It’s in human nature to be sceptical.”
Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters (1984) “Back off man, I’m a scientist.”
Brockout – The Remains Baron Von Leppe in The Terror (1963) “What you see, lieutenant, are the remains of a noble house. Relics. Ghosts of past glories.”

Dash – Winter MactilburghThe Fifth Element (1997) “The compositional elements of his DNA chain are the same as ours, [there’s simply more of them,] tightly packed with infinite genetic knowledge, almost like this being was engineered.”
Dom & Roland – Imagination Leonardo da Vinci in Star Trek: Voyager #3.26 “Scorpion: Part 1” (1997) “[There are times, Katarina, when I find myself] transfixed by a shadow on the wall, [or the splashing of water against a stone]. Exocet – Demon Seed Apocalypse Now
Future Engineers – Eden John Locke, Lost, series 1 episode 5 “White Rabbit” “Not a big believer in “magic”. But this place is different. Special. The others don’t want to talk about it because it scares them. But we all know it. We all feel it. … What if everything that happened here, happened for a reason? …” / Jack: “That’s impossible.” / Locke: “I’ve looked into the eye of this island. And what I saw? It was beautiful.”
ICR & Autumn - Yesterday Without a Paddle (2004) “When we were kids, it didn’t matter what the song was. We weren’t wrapped up in what was cool and uncool. We just listened to the music. It should be like that now. Just listen to the song, man.”
Implex – Pi Maximillian Cohen in Pi (1998) “… One, mathematics is the language of nature. Two, everything around us can be represented and understood through numbers. Three, if you graph the numbers of any system, patterns emerge. Therefore, there are patterns everywhere in nature.” / “You see, there’s math everywhere.” / “The number is nothing! It’s the meaning, the syntax. It’s between the numbers. If you haven’t understood it, it’s because it’s not for you.” (This movie is consistently mistranscribed, and I have tried to transcribe it as accurately as I can in spite of the actor’s imprecise diction.)
Lenzman & Jubei – Room 237 Forest ranger in The Shining (1980) “KDK 1 calling KDK 12. Are you receiving me? This is KDK 1 calling KDK 12. KDK 1 calling KDK 12. Do you read me?”

Professor Messenger and Conference Chairman in Solaris (Солярис) (1972, English dub)

Professor Messenger: “[Perhaps, but may I venture another opinion. We are on the verge of an immense discovery.] I should think it most unwise if the important decisions we shall make at this point were based on the observations furnished us [by a brave but technically qualified layman. Nevertheless we owe a debt and every explorer will envy this pilot, his discipline and presence of mind, his talents of observation. Moreover I maintain that at this present time, we are bound morally to press forward with our probes until the whole truth is uncovered.]”

Conference Chairman: “[Burton’s statements would appear to be the outward expression of a very involved hallucinatory complex induced by atmospheric influences of planetary origin plus obscure irrational symptoms to which the brain’s cortical substance contributed in some measure through the excitation of associated zones] and it would appear moreover this report in no way reflects the actual facts.”

Unidentified “Get up! On your feet, (unintelligible)!”
Mav – God of Speed Franklin Story Musgrave interviewed for Space episode 6, “Boldly Go” (2001) “When you see a launch from the outside, it’s a rather glorious, magnificent thing. Inside, it’s the absolute opposite of that. It’s 137 decibels. It’s shaking. Everything is shaking.”
Mav – Northern Lights Professor Quatermass and Posh Accent Villain in Quatermass 2 “This way please. Right along will you. Quickly.” … “We’re not inside the dome are we?” “No. This is an air lock. It’s not possible to enter the dome itself but you will be taken downstairs.” … “It’s quite safe.”

Professor Messenger in Solaris (Солярис) (1972, English dub) “[The essential question is far more serious than the simple study of Solaristics. We are probing the very frontier of human knowledge.] I ask is it proper artificially to establish a knowledge frontier. By the very fact of doing so we limit our concept of the infinity of man’s knowledge, and if our movement is not forward, do we not risk moving backward?”
Mav – Skylines Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters (1984) “Back off man, I’m a scientist.”
Doctor Victor Stein in The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958) “[Frankenstein would have been accepted as] a genius of science.”
Mav & Implex – Chasm Henri Berton (Анри Бертон) in Solaris (Солярис) (1972, English dub)

“[… All my efforts were required in operating the ship, in checking instruments.] I wasn’t watching outside. As a result, I unknowingly entered the fog bank. … It was like nothing I’d ever seen before. It seemed to be a colloidal substance, a gluey mass. All the windows were coated. The fog reduced the lift to the rotor blades, and then once more I began slowly to lose altitude. I couldn’t see the sun, where I supposed it would be. [The fog looked like fire.] I emerged about an hour later into a large open space. The patch was round like a dome and about 300 feet across. [Uh …] At that moment, I observed phenomenal changes in the ocean. The water became strangely still, and the surface looked transparent yet somehow troubled. A sort of mucus started to congeal. It rose up from the depths in long veins. It emerged from the waters boiling and turning in circles. [After a while, a crust appeared on top. The crust solidified; uh, the surface was brown, like burnt sugar syrup. (Un-dubbed section in Russian.) I turned back to my controls for a moment, [and] when I looked out again I saw a below me, a kind of garden. … Well, I could see vegetation and plants of this colloidal substance, acacia trees, and everything seemed to be in miniature. … [Oh, they weren’t real leaves,] they were made of some sort of plastic material. All of a sudden, cracks started to appear. [The boiling began again, and the crust began to break up. The camera was on part of the time; you’ll be able to judge better from the picture. … ]”

(This is a transcript of the English dub, of the lines spoken by Berton; in Chasm, the lines are not sampled in order that they are spoken.)

Chun was and still is very evil. … Chun has become rich from the skills of the great master that he murdered … and the techniques that I have taken the time to teach you: use them for good.” / “Chun Te, I have sought you for a long time. You killed my beloved instructor and then you adopted his technique … You have used it only for destruction. Your time has come.”
Chun Te Se: “So, my weaker friend, you have come to the place where you will finally die!”
(thanks to Kryptopex for finding this)
Nookie – Heaven Colin Powell news conference, 14th September 2011 “I was raised a soldier, and you’re trained, there is the enemy occupying a piece of ground. The enemy is very often right here within our own country.” (Adapted from the Washington Post transcript.)
Om Unit – Sleepwalkers Bearded Man in They Live (1988) “Our impulses are being redirected. We are living in an artificially-induced state of consciousness that resembles sleep. They have created a repressive society, and we are their unwitting accomplices. Their intention to rule rests with the annihilation of consciousness. We have been lulled into a trance. They have made us indifferent to ourselves, to others. We are focused only on our own gain. That is their primary method of survival: to keep us asleep, keep us selfish, keep us sedated.”

Not without infection.” / “You’re all going to die down here.”

Rabbi Cohen in Pi (1998) “… and with their deaths, they destroyed our greatest secret.”
Stray – Silver From the Sky Philippe Petit in Man On Wire (2008) “… and suddenly, I freeze … and I see something magnificent, something that inspire me … Now, I need to have that, this little tangible, uh, start of my dream, but everybody is watching, and but I need that page, and so what I do is under the cover of sneeze … I tear the page, put it under my jacket, and go out. Now, of course I would have a toothache for a week, but what’s the pain in comparison that now I have acquired my dream.”
Total Science – Where Are We Maximillian Cohen in Pi (1998) “9:13, personal note: When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun. So once when I was six I did.” (There is another indistinct speech sample at 3:16 that cannot be positively traced back to the film.)

At work and at play, giving new meanings to the word ‘democracy’. People like Mr. Peterbuilt, a man for the name born. His obsession: garbage. His profession: sanitary engineer. His avocation …”

12th Street – Brain Damage Jip in Human Traffic (1999) “Present is gone. Fantasy is a part of reality, and we take the brakes off. We’re thinking clearly yet not thinking at all. And this feels right. We stop trying to control things. Warm rush of chemicals through us. We’re fluctuating. Is this brain damage? We forget all the pain and the hurt in life. We want to go somewhere else. We’re not threatened by people anymore. All our insecurities have evaporated. We’re in the clouds now, wide open. We’re spacemen, orbiting the Earth. Yeah, the world looks beautiful from here, man. We’re nympholeptics, desiring for the unobtainable. We risk sanity for moments of temporary enlightenment. So many ideas, so little memory. The last thought killed by anticipation of the next. We embrace an overwhelming feeling of love. We flow in unison. We’re together. … We wave goodbye.”
