06.

Packet sniffing

v1.1 Close-up

Everything I know about the Internet I learnt with a packet sniffer, sayeth the silvestrij, and now a ThinkNerd t-shirt. Reading manuals is for wussies.

08.

Google Mordor

Close-up

One Site to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. A homage to Google Mordor. Credit goes to Peter Hosey for the original idea. The One Ring image is a 3D render by Chris that I originally stole from TLOTR.COM’s Fan Art section. I have continued to use it for posterity.

0A.

EPOC

In honour of Psion’s microkernel, multitasking palmtop operating system, now known as Symbian OS. EPOC is one of the most inspiring operating systems ever created.

0B.

I pwn your Gorilla

Close-up

Given the apparent popularity of my QBasic Gorillas: Deluxe Edition, it only seems fitting to dedicate a t-shirt to all the leet Gorillas gamers out there, even those playing the original version.
Also in a more moderate dark blue

0C.

Cy/VOS

Hey, if EPOC can have a t-shirt, so can Jennifer Elaan’s up-and-coming Cy/VOS operating system.
Also in navy blue and white

0D.

Fawlty Towers of OS design

Let Windows be a guide to exactly how not to build an operating system! Maybe the blended heads of Bill Gates and John Cleese should go on the back?
Also in sonic blue because John does not like green

15.

Bug Magnet

Ever feel like you are to software bugs what a ladykiller is to women? You are not the only one. Also available as a badge for your Web site.

16.

Zero Reboots

Given that my machine crashed right after completing this design, this t-shirt is more suitable as a curse to give to rival sysadmins and enemies!
Possible design for the rear

18.

Black belt in sudo

One for any up-and-coming bastard operators from hell.

1C.

The Home Server Administrators Club

Close-up

A concept to describe all of those who run their own servers from home, which accounted for probably a sizeable portion of those viewing ThinkNerd when it was on Firetrack.

1E.

Bandwidth Monster

Close-up

This metaphor was siggy’s idea. I like. I do. So I made a preliminary sketch of the shirt. I think the sigster would kill to get her hands on a real one of these if anyone could draw it properly.

1F.

I dwell in Cyberspace

Close-up

I do not live in your world.

28.

FTFM

Ah, all the times that we are instructed to RTFM, which is little comfort when the manual is wrong (or missing, in which case you’ll want to replace the ‘F’ with ‘W’ for “Write” or simply “Where’s”).

29.

The manual is a lie

Another idea borne from the frustration of obsolete, erroneous or just plain absent documentation.
