It seems that a few people are now using SMTP Werkzeug in spite of itself, so I guess it is worth mentioning that version 1.4 is now available. I have added a couple of features that I have wanted for a while: a session history window for when some test messages went missing and I can no longer remember what I sent where and when, and an Options dialog box where I can specify permanent custom MX servers.

Keycombo” is finally up and running. Keycombo, when not wishing for a better name, is a keyboard–switch–year database set up for the purpose of keyboard history research. It is still very much a work in progress, but there’s already a sizeable amount of entries present.

It will take a while to scavenge up details on keyboards where both the switch type and year of manufacture (as found on the PCB, controller IC, case or rear label) are known and photographically documented at a reliable URL; getting a comprehensive database established may be a long way off yet. As I am not copying anyone’s images, all data is being referenced back to the source where I found it.
